Bum Interviews:
The Michael Raso Interview
Rufus and Scraps got to spend a few minutes with Michael Raso, writer and director of the recent DVD release "The Seduction of Misty Mundae"

Scraps: For the Bums not familiar with your work, tell us a little about what you do…

Michael: As the owner of an independent film company I do literally everything from overseeing the business affairs to QCing final DVD copies of our movies.

Scraps: "Seduction" is a little different from the usual assortment of movies we get in, is this a 'beer and pizza with the guys' movie, or a quiet night with the Mrs.? How do you recommend we watch it?

Michael: “Seduction of Misty Mundae” is a quiet night with the Mrs….or late night alone, perhaps. Not a beer movie. Wanna drink beer, I recommend watching our upcoming “Lust in Space”

Scraps: Did you find it difficult to direct a "coming of age" movie from a woman's point of view?

Michael: No. Both guys and girls go through that “special awkward time” during their late teens. That was the feeling I was attempting to re-capture.

Scraps: What directors do you look to for inspiration?

Michael: I am inspired by visuals. Kubrick, Polanski, Romero, Bava and, of course, Joe Sarno.

Scraps: Is bigger really better? Do you prefer implants or real breasts, no matter the size?

Michael: Real breasts all the way. I have no interest in modification. Real…size is not important. It is the whole package that matters.

Scraps: A few years ago, Philips was giving DVDs away with the purchase of a DVD player. They packed in stuff like Lethal Weapon 4, Stepmom and Stargate. If you were in charge of this campaign today, what 3 DVDs do you think should be bundled with every new DVD player?

Michael: Mr Smith Goes to Washington, 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Godfather

Scraps: What one CD can you pop in and listen to all day?

Michael: Pink Floyd The Dark Side of the Moon

Rufus: Do low carb beers like Michelob Ultra, and Budweiser Select make a man any less of a man when drank.

Michael: Some people might think so…I don’t

Rufus: What is next in line for Michael Raso?

Michael: I am writing a treatment for a horror film. I hope to co-write it with filmmaking partner John Fedele. It is about one’s personal haunts and demons…you know the one’s that sit on your shoulder.

Rufus: As a personal fan of Polymorph, what are your thoughts on the great Buckeye State?

Michael: No offense, but I do not think about it much. I’m a fan of New York City, the greatest city on earth.

Scraps: 11. Did any of the actresses on the set of "Seduction" happen to mention any fantasies that included Rufus or Scraps, the former Hollywood bigwigs turned cult icons that run BumsCorner.com ? It's okay to be honest, you won't hurt our feelings. If the answer is yes, details would be appreciated.

Michael: I remember Misty Mundae mentioning something about “schwag”…that’s pretty close to “scraps”!
