With David Cronenberg directing, and stars such as Viggo Mortensen and Ed Harris I was hoping for the best.

I didn't get it.

Don't get me wrong, some of the scenes were great, even brilliant. And the overall atmosphere that Cronenberg conveys is eerie and unsettling.....I like that. But, the pacing for this "thriller" was all wrong.

It seemed like they took forever establishing the family relationships between Viggo's character and his wife, son, and daughter.

The concept was there, the acting was great, notably the Academy Award nominated performance by William Hurt, but it lacked an overall rhythm and continuity. That being said, the actions scenes we're stunning.

The intensity and choreography in these scenes were just amazing. But in the end, the long periods of waiting in between the action, just pulled me out of the film all together.
